Large containerised diesel generator sets at an industrial site with one container open

Where are Perkins 2000 Series engines used?

  • Large generator sets for prime and standby power, from about 350 kVA to over 900 kVA
  • Mobile crushers and screens
  • Large construction and mining machines
  • Pumps, compressors and other heavy industrial equipment

Perkins says the industrial versions have been validated in the harshest working environments, particularly in construction.

How to identify your Perkins 2000 Series engine

The model (for example 2806D-E18TA) and serial number are on the engine’s data plate. The letters after the number follow the same pattern as other Perkins engines: D and J are the build generation, E is electronic, the next number is the capacity and TA / TTA describe the turbo and aftercooling. Send us the full serial number exactly as written, the make and model of the machine or generator, and a photo of the plate if you can.

Replacing a Perkins 2206, 2506 or 2806

  • Like-for-like: the simplest route for large electronic engines, where controls, cooling and exhaust are matched to the machine.
  • Generator or industrial: generator (EP) engines and industrial engines are built differently. Tell us which you have.
  • Emissions: Stage V engines include aftertreatment that must stay with the engine. Tell us where the machine works and we will help you choose the right build.
