Sleemans BP2400

Power wherever the job is, without the noise, fumes or fuel can.

The BP2400 puts 2,560Wh of stored power and 2,400W of clean, mains-quality output into a single unit. Keep the fridge cold, the broadband up and the kettle boiling through a winter power cut. Run a market stall, a film set or a campsite all day without a generator droning in the background.

It recharges from any UK socket in about two hours and tops up from solar panels or your van. The LiFePO4 battery is rated for 3,000 cycles, so it keeps earning its place for years. At £899 it gives you more stored power for your money than the big-name brands, and it’s backed by a UK company you can actually phone.

Who it’s for

Built for real jobs, not just weekends.

For trades

Run site tools without a generator.

Saws, drills, battery chargers and lighting, with no petrol can on the van and no exhaust in a stairwell or on a residential street.

There’s no engine to service and nothing to refuel. Recharge it overnight at the yard or from a site supply.

Events, markets and film crews

Quiet enough to sit under the stall.

It powers a card machine, lights, a coffee grinder or a chest freezer for a full trading day.

On set it takes recording kit off the generator, so engine noise doesn’t ruin a take.

Camping, caravans and campervans

A long weekend on one charge.

One charge covers a 12V cool box, lights, phones, laptops and a hair dryer in short bursts.

For lighter trips, the 7kg BP600 is easier to carry.

At home

Ready when the power goes.

Plug in the fridge, router, lights and phone chargers and the essentials carry on through most UK power cuts.

Leave it connected to the mains and it switches to battery in 20ms or less when the grid drops, quick enough for most computers and routers to stay on.

To connect it to your house wiring, use a proper changeover switch fitted by a qualified electrician.

What will it run?

Approximate runtime on a full charge. We work it out as 2,560Wh × 85% ÷ the appliance’s watts. The 85% allows for inverter losses, so these are realistic figures, not best-case ones.

Phone · one charge ≈ 15Wh About 145 charges
Wi-Fi router and fibre box · 15W About 145 hours
Fridge-freezer · 60W average About 36 hours
CPAP machine, no humidifier · 40W About 54 hours
Laptop · 60W About 36 hours
43in LED TV · 80W About 27 hours
Cordless tool battery charger · 250W About 8.7 hours
LED site lighting · 200W About 11 hours
SDS drill · 800W About 2.7 hours drilling
Microwave · 1,000W About 2.2 hours
Circular saw · 1,400W About 1.6 hours cutting
2kW kettle · 2,000W About 1.1 hours (20+ boils)

Anything rated above 2,400W continuous, such as a 3kW immersion heater, is too much for the BP2400. Look at the WAVE 4200 instead.

Recharging

Mains, solar or on the move.

Mains: up to 2,000W from a standard UK socket. Empty to full in roughly 1.5 to 2 hours.

Solar: up to 400W through the MPPT input (10–60V DC, XT60). With 400W of panels in good sun, expect around 7 hours or more from empty. UK weather usually makes it longer.

Car or van: from a 12V socket through the same input. Only charge with the engine running, so the vehicle battery isn’t flattened.

Battery safety

LiFePO4, the same chemistry as home batteries.

Lithium iron phosphate is far more thermally stable than the NMC lithium-ion in phones and older power stations, and it lasts many more cycles. The battery management system adds over-current, short-circuit, over-temperature and low-temperature protection.

Lifespan

3,000 full cycles.

Charged and emptied twice a week, that’s more than 25 years of cycling. In practice, calendar age and storage will set the limit before the cycle count does.

Questions

Can a 2000W power station run a kettle?

Yes, as long as the kettle is rated at 2,000W or less. The BP2400’s 2,400W output handles a 2kW kettle. A full charge gives roughly an hour of kettle time, which is about 20 full boils.

How long will the BP2400 run a fridge?

A typical fridge-freezer averages around 60W once its compressor cycles on and off, so a full BP2400 runs it for about 36 hours.

Can I run a heater from it?

Yes, but not for long. A 2kW fan heater empties it in about an hour, and a 1kW setting lasts about 2 hours. Heated throws and electric blankets (around 60W) are far more efficient and run for well over a day.

Can I use it indoors?

Yes. There’s no combustion, so there are no fumes and no carbon monoxide. Keep the vents clear and don’t cover the unit while it’s running.

Can I link two BP2400s together?

No. The BP2400 is a standalone unit and doesn’t support parallel connection. If you need more power or capacity, the WAVE 4200 gives 4,200W and expands to 18,432Wh.

Will it keep my computer on in a power cut?

Plugged into the mains with your equipment connected to it, the BP2400 switches to battery in 20ms or less. That’s quick enough for most PCs, routers and NAS drives. For critical servers, use a dedicated online UPS.

How should I store it over winter?

Somewhere dry between 0°C and 25°C, at around half charge, and top it up at least every six months. The cells won’t charge below 0°C; the BP2400 pauses charging automatically and resumes once the battery warms to 5°C.

Can I connect it to my house wiring?

Only through a proper changeover switch fitted by a qualified electrician. Never back-feed a house through a socket.

Delivery and returns
